and business networking offer valuable business tools which can be used to
increase operational flexibility and an organization’s responsiveness to
markets. By adopting these new concepts, businesses can rapidly and efficiently
react to changes in their environments Efficient communications have become
crucial to the success of modern organizations. Information and knowledge is
shared instantaneously using teleactivities. This networking of information is
absolutely crucial to the profitability and very existence of many
organizations. This massive growth is also driving business-to-consumer and
business-to-business e-commerce. This has huge implications for the people
working in these businesses, not only on the work they do but the time and place
they do it in. Traditional sales channels are being scaled back or disappearing
altogether. Companies are having to develop e-business strategies to suit their
circumstances and customers. ARTT will assist companies, research organizations,
trade unions, employer bodies and educational institutions in finding ways to
address the changes caused by information technology and the opportunities and
challenges created by it.
