Other points of interest:
Between 1990 and 1992 I was the first
Eastern-European pupil to be awarded a scholarship by a British school to study
at ‘A’ (Advanced) level in the UK.
In 1991 I took part
in the Oxford session of the European Youth Parliament as the first Romanian to
ever attend that forum. My contribution was appreciated in very kind words by
the President and organizers of the event as well as by the Romanian Ambassador
at the time, Mr. Sergiu Celac.
Since then I have
been part of a number of activities aimed at raising awareness of European
issues in Romania. I have contributed, through research, to gaining better
knowledge of specific Romanian issues in economics, business and business
culture. I have also taken part in other activities, such as the World Bank’s
Global Development Conference in Tokyo, December 2000.
